We all experience rupture.

How do you navigate through it?

I know some approaches that work.

Create Space for Empathy

No matter the nature of what’s challenging for you, therapy can help you find your way to improved empathy and patience. These skills reduce stress, giving you room to feel, stretch, grow and manage the stresses of life that are unavoidable.

Identifying the Shift

A beautiful gift of therapy is the focus on all that is possible. Crises tend to blind us to the shifts we can make to bring about change. With an acknowledgment of what exactly needs to shift, you’ll find commitment to seeing the change through.

Communication is Key

Communication is a critical element for successful relationships. We communicate with ourselves, our partners, our family members. We don’t always do this kindly, or skillfully--then conflict arises or escalates. Therapy offers tools to circumvent this escalation: by communicating better, you’ll find yourself in fewer conflicts.

You are Your Story

Your story contains everything we need to know about accessing the change you seek. I will listen, deeply, and together we’ll pull apart the events, connective tissues and framework until we see the picture anew. We’ll take it slow. We’ll tease out truth from perspective. You’ll see the roles you play.

All relationships interest me.
Even those I have never heard of. I need you to be at least two people in a family system. Beyond that, I welcome what you bring.

My therapeutic approach utilizes a person-centered, integrative, systems lens that looks at the connections with other people in our lives to determine contributing influences on our current situations. I primarily employ elements of humanistic therapy with a deeply held belief that our life experiences and histories are an integral part of our identity and that we are all worthy of love and empathy.
